Stepping Outside My Comfort Zone

Today, my sister and I went out to hang handouts from the Jim Martin campaign in a local apartment complex and installed signs at various intersections. It feels great to be able to contribute. We, along with my fiance, went canvassing for Jim Martin last Saturday, going door to door to inform people of their polling stations. 🙂 I decided to grasp the opportunity because the last time I was invited to go canvass [for Obama], I chickened out. 😦 It was too nerve-wracking for me to go door to door pitching to strangers.

I now regret not taking up that offer.

Canvassing yanked me out of my comfort zone but it quickly made me comfortable talking to strangers. It made me realize how much caution can stunt progress. Perhaps I will try stepping out of my comfort zone more often. 🙂

If you ever get the chance to do something similar, I highly recommend doing it.
